Company background Founded by Palmer Luckey Headquarters Located in Irvine, California Launched a Kickstarter campaign to help fund the development of their first product With the support of top video game companies including Valve, Epic Games and Unity, the Kickstarter was an enormous success, raising over $2.4 million in funding from project backers and supporters around the world. Facebook bought Oculus VR on March 25, 2014 400 million in cash 1.6 billion in Facebook stock Addition 300 million if they meet certain financial targets

About oculus rift The Oculus Rift is a new virtual reality headset that lets players step inside their favorite games and virtual worlds Uses custom tracking technology to provide ultra-low latency 360° head tracking The Oculus Rift creates a stereoscopic 3D view with excellent depth and scale. The Oculus Rift provides an approximately 100° field of view, stretching the virtual world beyond your peripheral vision.
