  2. Value Pricing in Virginia • Over the past several years, there has been significant interest in value pricing within Virginia • VDOT has explored the concept at a high level in both Northern Virginia and Hampton Roads • VDOT views value pricing as an important option for travelers

  3. Value Pricing Proposal • In January 2003, VDOT, in cooperation with VDRPT, submitted a proposal to FHWA for funding under the Value Pricing Pilot Program • Focus on Northern Virginia • Scope included evaluation/analysis and outreach only – no implementation • Goal: to develop a matrix of specific facilities/corridors and value pricing scenarios

  4. Other Value Pricing Activities • I-495 PPTA involving HOT lanes • Proposal has been submitted to VDOT • Continue to monitor activities nationally and internationally for lessons learned and opportunities • Continue to monitor conditions in Virginia for conditions conducive to Value Pricing
