  4. Matthew 9:35-36 • Who moved Him to compassion? • What did He do as a result of this compassion • Instructed them to pray the Lord of the Harvest

  5. Matthew 14:14 • What had just occurred? • Who moved him to compassion? • What did He do as a result of this compassion? • The Holy Spirit broke loose and healed many • Fed 5000 men with 5 loaves and 2 fish

  6. Matthew 15:32 • Again, He is moved to compassion • What was His physical response • Fed 4000 men with 7 loaves and a few little fish

  7. Matthew 18:27 • The parable of the unforgiving servant • One servant owed ten thousand talents – a huge amount, in today’s terms – a Mega Millions Jackpot • The master was moved with compassion and forgave the debt • That servant would not forgive another servant 100 denarii (one trip to Walmart) • Forgiveness was revoked and he was punished

  8. Matthew 20:34 • Jesus, again had compassion and granted 2 blind men their sight

  9. Mark 1:41 • Compassion led to Jesus touching a leper • The leper was healed

  10. Luke 7:11-13 • The only son of a widow had died • Jesus again was moved with compassion • He raised the dead (this was the first per the gospel of Luke)

  11. Luke 10:33 • Parable of the good Samaritan • The Samaritan was inconvenienced • He cared for the wounds • He paid for all the expenses

  12. Luke 15:20 • The prodigal son returns • The father is moved with compassion for his son who had been dead, but now lived

  13. So compassion…. • Healed the sick • Gave site to the blind • Met weary peoples needs • Forgave debts • Broke the bonds of leprosy • Raised the dead • Had time for, cared for, and paid for someones hurts • Restored the prodigal
