  2. What is that? • An autistic disorder most notable for the often great difference between the intellectual and social abilities of those who have it. • Meaning. That the person who has this may be very well at academic developments and awful at social interactions

  3. Associative Featured • Maintain adequate cognitive and learning development • Has a hard time socializing • Doesn't show any emotions or facial gestures • In their own world • Physically awkward • Poor coordination and clumsiness • “The little professor”

  4. Etiology Genetic contribution Some may say the Amygdala has a role in the disorder

  5. Prevalence • more common in boys • 4boys:1 girl • Many individuals go undiagnosed

  6. treatment • Therapy focusing on enhancing communication skills as well as behavior skills
