pearls
Pearls
  • Leadership must commit to making patient safety a top priority.
  • Safety Culture is the “underpinning” for all improvement work.
  • Senior Management buy-in is critical, but frontline staff need to be empowered to drive both patient safety initiatives and improvement work.
  • Frontline staff need to understand and be able speak up when they have a concern, and to use safety culture tools such as SBAR, huddles and debriefs.
