  2. How It Started • Japanese first bombed the U.S. at Pearl Harbor! • Then the U.S. had to go to war • We got hit with 49 bombs, 40 torpedoes, & 51 dive bombs

  3. Pearl Harbor • Pearl Harbor was a dock before it got bombed • It happened in Oahu, Hawaii by an airport • People still cry about it today • Also 2,388 people were killed, 2,000 were hurt

  4. D-Day • D-Day was the day of the Normandy Invasion • D-Day saved America by stopping Hitler • It happened on June 6, 1944

  5. D-Day and Pearl Harbor • Both happened during World War II • Both are part of U.S. history
