  2. Reports on Telconferences After Palm Springs’ Meeting Huan-Bang Li, Suhwook Kim, Myung-Jong Lee (NICT), (LGE), (CUNY)

  3. Two Teleconferences were set afterPalm Springs’ Meeting • 1st teleconference: October 9 (Tuesday), US EST • US EST 8:00pm , 5:00pm PST, Japan, Korea: 9:00am, China: 8:00am • TGD Discussion • 2nd teleconference October 30 (Tuesday), US EST • US EST 9:00am, PST 6:00am, Japan, Korea, 10:00 pm, China 9:00pm. • Discussion forTGD and CFP • Plan for November meeting

  4. Teleconference On 9th October, 2012 • DCN: 15-12-0557-00-0008: “Views of PAC operation and requirements” • Main discussion • PAC device (PD) can provide bridge to infrastructure but not necessary. • Multi-hop relay. • Universal interoperability. • Data integrity and confidentiality. • ID and multiple ID for a PD • Discovery identity (DID)

  5. Continuing Argument By E-mail After 1stTeleconferences • PAC features including discovery shall be independent and without intervention from/to (higher layers of) infrastructure. • Main features (various IDs, security) must be self-contained, while allowing optional access to infrastructure. • Besides PAC IDs, higher layer IDs (Universal ID in special case) are necessary, which can be deployed without infrastructure. • Need a specific peer identity information for peer discovery.

  6. Teleconferences On 30th October, 2012 • DCN: 15-12-0562-00-0008: “TG8 Technical Guidance Document - additional requirements” • Main discussion • All PDs shall support at least one common communication mode. • That is true when ‘at a same frequency band’ • A PD may use multiple discovery identities at the same time. • Need to clarify definition first. • Discovery ID • Need to clarify definition first.

  7. Teleconferences On 30th October, 2012 (Continue) • Towards next step • Encourage presentations on definitions of various IDs at November meeting. • Solicit contributions related to regulations and channelmodels to facilitate drafting Call For Proposal. • Require further comments on TGD of revision 6. (DCN385-06) and clean version TGD (DCN568-00)
