  3. Developed similar to Japan, different clans controlled their own territories Conquered by the Chinese under the Han dynasty During this time they were influenced by Buddhism and the writing system Early History

  4. First powerful Korean Dynasty was the Koryu (this is where the name Korea comes from) Central govt. based on Confucian civil service exams Overthrown by the Mongols Dynasty

  5. Artists produced pottery Wrote the first history of Korea Wrote poetry Used block printing to write the entire Buddhist teachings Culture and Achievements
