  2. MATERIALS AND DIMENSIONS • The materials used in my racer are… • Lightweight Styrofoam for the body • Wood to support the Styrofoam • Metal bike frame for the base and steering • Four mountain bike wheels • Colored paint or the decorations • A sling-shot mechanism that is in the arm

  3. MATERIALSANDDIMENSIONSCON’T…. • My racer is 17’ high • 5’ 6” wide • It weighs 124.8 lbs

  4. RULES • It uses only human power • There is nothing screwed into the ground • The racer has brakes and a horn • The weight is 52lbs less then the maximum weight • The width 4” less then the stated width • The height 3’ less then the maximum height

Building and Steering • First we came up with the design • Bought the materials • Carve the bunny shape out of the Styrofoam • Hollow out the Styrofoam and put in the support wood • Put in the drivers seat (bike seat) and the bike frame • Attach wheels • Make the window for the driver • Paint the details • The steering will be bike handles and the brakes will be bike brakes • Attach the air horn

Judging Criteria* Creativity * • My racer is unique because no one would think of building a giant bunny • It’s interesting because it has bright colors • It is entertaining because there will be music playing as it go down the track • What will get my racer noticed is that my team will interact with the audience by dressing like Easter bunnies and handing out little baskets of candy

  7. * Speed * • My racer has a good weight so it will be able to go fast • I expect a great push from my mechanics • The racer should have anywhere from 35 – 51 seconds

  8. * Showmanship * • My mechanics are dressed like the Easter bunny • Entertaining because it is eye catchy • Memorable because my team hands out candy and most racers do not interact with the audience

  9. Conclusion • My racer has a little surprise as it goes down the track the sling shot mechanism will shoot soft types of candy to the audience • We will be remembered for our confidence and our unique idea
