  2. Simile • A comparison using like or as (describing) • His feet were as big as boats. • Compared? • Meaning?

  3. Metaphor • A metaphorstates that one thing is something else. It is a comparison, but it does NOT use like or as to make the comparison. (describing) • Her hair is silk. • Compared? • Meaning?

  4. Simile or Metaphor???? • On a piece of paper, write what each comparison is – simile or metaphor. • Write down what is being compared. • Think about what is meaning/description is.
