These may be purchased through Dennis Uniforms. ***Coming Soon: Spirit Sweatshirts*** **Put your student’s names on the tags** Attendance: Please call in all absences so that they do not become unexcused. All absences must be reported at the office Arrivals: Students need to be here on time. Gates open 7:30- (late after 7:40) After 8:00 on Mass Days: Students must report to the office. Housekeeping

  7. Christmas Program Auditions begin Thursday after school at 3:15PM in Room 212. This is for 5th Grade thru 8th Grade. Christmas Program

Our Purpose “To create enthusiasm for scholarship, to stimulate a desire to render service, to promote leadership, to develop character, and to encourage good citizenship.” We want to recognize our students who have been examples of these traits as well as give them opportunities to use their talents to serve others.

  9. Expectations Achieve and maintain a 3.0 (85%) grade average. At least a second semester 6th grade student. Be an exemplar of St. John Vianney’s Student Learning Expectations for the school community. Regularly attend meetings. Actively participate in the conception and execution of service projects. Complete at least 10 hours of service to the school, parish, or larger community per semester.

  10. Application Process • Applications will be available after Thanksgiving Break. • Includes student application and two (2) recommendations. • Deadline will follow Christmas Break. • Students will be notified in late January.

  12. 4th grade Math Key CompetenciesMath • Use the four operations with whole numbers to solve problems. • Generalize place value understanding for multi-digit whole numbers. • Use place value understanding and properties of operations to perform multi-digit arithmetic. • Extend understanding of fraction equivalence and ordering. • Build fractions from unit fractions by applying and extending previous understandings of operations on whole numbers. • Understand decimal notation for fractions, and compare decimal fractions.

  13. 5th grade Math Key CompetenciesMath • Understand the place value system. • Perform operations with multi-digit whole numbers and with decimals to hundredths. • Use equivalent fractions as a strategy to add and subtract fractions. • Apply and extend previous understandings of multiplication and division to multiply and divide fractions. • Geometric measurement: understand concepts of volume and relate volume to multiplication and to addition.
