Who we are Michael Lane is a Registered Chartered Engineer and trades as a Planning & Design Consultant.He is an Affiliate Member of The Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) and also holds a BSc. in Construction Technology from Bolton St. (DIT), Dublin.Michael worked in the family business (M Lane & Co Ltd) for a number of years before forming Lane Planning & Design in 2003. Sean Cotter is a Chartered Engineer (B.E., M.B.A., F.I.E.I., M.I.C.E) who jointly formed Lane Planning & Design in 2003.Sean undertakes the supervision and direction of site works on behalf of Lane Planning & Design.

  3. What we do The principal activities we undertake include the initial design and preparation of planning applications for commercial developments, houses and extensions. We specialize in all aspects of planning applications:

  4. A completed extension in Kilpedder County Wicklow Reference-Aidan Quinn from Clontarf, Dublin3 I was very satisfied with the service provided to me by Michael Lane of Lane Planning & Design. Michael spent the time initially meeting me to get an idea of what I had in mind with regard to the proposed extension and the type of living space we hoped to gain. He went through, in detail, the type of use that it would be put to as well as asking questions and determining how the current living area was going to be affected. Following our initial meeting on-site, we spent some time going over ideas, thoughts and suggestions via email and telephone. Once this had been put into a clearer direction on my mind, Michael came to the site again to measure fully. He moved thing along very quickly after this and produced some drawings to me within a matter of days .Again, he very kindly and patiently entertained more of my questions and changes. Overall I can say that the drawings were well thought through, worked on diligently and definitely helped (to my mind) by Michael’s skills and expertise. His technical awareness and knowledge was certainly a definite help when it came to the shallow pitch roof and the skylights that would work with the tiles heet. This was not something that I was aware of and his knowledge definitely saved me a lot of legwork. This was similarly echoed throughout his work in giving advice and making suggestions on the specification that was thorough, wholly appropriate and a great help to me in moving the project forward.
