  1. ModelPredictive Control forMP Buck Converters G. Catalanotto The purpose of this work is to use the predictive control to take advantage of the future information of the voltage reference in order to improve the reference tracking. The control, based on the MPC theory attempts to increase the bandwidth of the conventional regulators by using the future information of the reference, which is supposed to be known in advance. A method based on Genetic Algorithm for designing a controller is proposed. A comparison with a conventional regulator is performed controlling a four-phase Buck converter. The off-line design managed to decrease the architectural complexity. The control has been successfully implemented on a FPGA in order to reach 1Mhz frequency for each frequency. Soon, experimental results will be available.
