Research Champions Workshop 2018 RCSLT Research and Development update

Some examples… • Providing evidence to support the need for SLT involvement in key policy areas e.g. mental health, justice system to support lobbying and influencing • Providing content support for stakeholder events e.g. DLD roundtable • Evidence and research sections of clinical webpages • Development and review of briefing papers/ documents • Involvement in the NICE consultations process • Reviewing information that appears in the mainstream media • Review bulletin feature articles • On steering groups for key projects e.g. curriculum guidelines development • Support to enquiries team and outcomes project • Support with referencing , clinical terminology and SLT specific information

Clinical Academic Mentor Network • Link up with a clinical academic SLT with more experience, who is willing to offer some guidance and support. • For ‘one off’ advice or longer-term mentoring. • Being a mentor is excellent CPD. • Write a case study of your mentoring experience. • Application forms at the RCSLT stand! “It was great to speak to you last week.
