  1. Agenda • Introduction • Energistics Standards Panorama / History / Participants • Web Services Interoperability Standards v1.0 • WITSML Version 1.x Services / Data Specifications • PRODML Version 1.x Services / Data Specifications • RESQML plan • Adjacent Technologies and External Specifications • Subjects for Subsequent Meetings • Candidates for Next Stage Deliverables • Next Steps • Adjourn

  2. Context • A new Energistics Special Interest Group has been formed to participate in the development and support of standards for the transfer of reservoir (g&g and simulation) models. Formal launch: Jan. 1, ‘09 • This arises directly from the RESCUE work • Actively operating for more than 10 years • Produced C++ class libraries for model exchange • Supported by energy companies and software/service companies • It has been agreed to provide for an implementation of such capabilities using XML (and Web Services) to be a parallel effort to those of WITSML and PRODML.

  3. RESQML Headlines • Scope • Re-development of RESCUE class library as Web Services and XML Data Exchange Standards • Focus: Earth models and reservoir models • Includes support for Geological and Geophysical models in coordination with respective SIGs • “Reservoir Characterization with XML” • Earth models, reservoir models • Data for wells, faults, horizons, stratigraphy, etc. • CRS/projection, units, points, lines, grids (points, lines, pillars, etc.)

  5. RESQML Headlines • Status and Plans • Formal launch, January 1, 2009 • Operating procedures same as other SIGs • Steering Committee • Use Case and Technical Teams • Legacy RESCUE Team – continues until RESQML matures • In-person meetings • May 4-7 in Calgary (RESQML) • August in Cambridge England (RESCUE and RESQML) • Compatibility with other Energistics Standards • Coordinate/interface with relevant external technologies/standards • OGP EPSG, OGC GML, GeoSciML, etc. • Market for greater awareness and participation

  6. Participants in Preliminary RESQML Meetings • BP • CMG • DGI • ESSS • Fugro • Halliburton • IFP • Midland Valley • Paradigm • PDS • Roxar • Schlumberger • Shell • SMT • Total • Transform Software • Energistics
