  1. Dress in Layers!

  2. Mittens are better than gloves.

  3. Wear a hat!

  4. You thought walking on Court Street in stilettos was hard before? Just add ice.

  5. If you must go out, wear decent shoes. Broken ankles are not cute.

  6. Invest in a houseplant. As long as you remember to water it, it should help you breathe easier inside.

  7. Cold, dry weather--both indoors or outdoors--can leave skin chapped and itchy, so keeping skin well-moisturized is especially important.

  8. Alcohol does nothing to warm us up and is a quick way to get hypothermia in a cold environment.

  9. A beer blanket does not replace a coat!
