Abram • God gave command, made promises to Abram Genesis 12:1-9 • He goes to land of Canaan, built altar • Went to Egypt during famine Gen. 12:10-20 • Gained many presents (Hagar) from Pharaoh because of Abram’s lie • Split from Lot Gen. 13 • Lets Lot choose land; land promise repeated • Abram rescues Lot & people of Sodom Gen. 14 • Melchizedek blesses him; Abram tithes to him

Abram • God promises descendants to Abram Gen. 15 • Abram believed God & God counted him as a righteous person based on his faith Heb. 11:6 • Abraham is father of all who believe in Jesus Romans 4:1-12 • God made a covenant with Abram • Wife Sarai wants Hagar to have children Gen. 16 • The arrangement has consequences v.12 • God commands 8th day circumcision Gen. 17 • Changes their names to Abraham & Sarah
