  5. EDUCATION PROCEEDS WITH DELIBERATENESS, CAN BE INSTITUTIONALIZED AND CAN TOUCH THE MINDS OF BOTH THE YOUNG AND OLD.IF WARS ARE PLANNED IN THE MINDS OF MEN, THEN PEACE TOO.

  9. SKILLS BASED - observation skills (Science) and computer skills (Computer Education ) - skills in fractions (Math) and making melody-measurement skills (Music)

  10. STORY BASED - story elements, values, themes and development of skills in other disciplines like grammar, analysis of current events, value clarification skills

  11. PROJECT BASED - investigatory skills (Science) and writing skills (English) - drawing and coloring skills (Art) and skill of using a hammer of gluing 2 materials

  12. LITERATURE BASED - integrated Reading and Language disciplines (English) - pinagsanib na pagbasa at wika (Filipino)

ATENEO DE MANILA GRADE SCHOOL EXPERIENCE • CURRICULUM BASED INTEGRATION - review and examination of the overall curriculum offerings - question: where is the right fit in the scheme of things where it will not be a duplication or a deviation to the existing academic schema; where its integration will highlight, strengthen and reinforce values, discipline and skills development?

  21. HELPFUL STEPS TOWARDS INTEGRATION 1. Spell out the goals of integration; answer: ‘why is there a need for integration? value: innovation, creativity, sincerity 2. Overall curriculum review and inspection value: openness and receptivity 3. Identify ‘integratable’ items in the curriculum value: experience and creativity 4. Identify an integration framework as a general guide; there can be a combination of frameworks value: clarity

  22. Cont. Helpful steps 5. Begin with seminal works; evaluate and reflect on the initial products value: sense of adventure and experimentation 6. Don’t be afraid to commit mistakes; there is always room for improvement and making things better (even with the best of things) value: humility 7. Document your experience; share your success; write a book!
