Community Programs CAHEC funds and administers the Supportive Services Coordinator Initiative and Six Community Programs: • Rex Williams Wellness Center 20 centers were installed in 2012 • Technology Learning Center 25 new centers in 2012 And we replaced 42 old computers • Community Grant Program $70,000 in 2012 • Adult Scholarship Program 63 residents from 28 properties in 2012 • Senior Recognition Program 740 Participants enrolled in 2012 360 residents attended the 2013 award trips • Youth Recognition Program 58 students from 11 properties in 2012 110 students are signed up to attend the award trip next month

CP Division • Market and promote CPs • Maintain CAHEC website with current documents • Perform CP orientations • Work with site personnel to administer programs • Process incoming applications • Publish CP Connection e-newsletter • Evaluate or modify programs as needed • Oversee Art Contest and administer writing workshops

User-Friendly Process • Guidelines are simple and straightforward • All applications are easy to complete • Site-based automated applications are on-line • On-line resident-based applications are under construction • CP staff is knowledgeable and accessible • All documents (guidelines, FAQ’s, applications, promotional flyers) can be found on our website

  9. Adult Scholarship Program • Program requirements are: • Application • Renewal application each semester • 2.75 GPA minimum • Earn Up to $1000 or $2000 per year • Application process is simple and noncompetitive • Pays for tuition, fees, books & supplies

  10. Adult Scholarship Program Benefits • Allows residents to further education • Offers funding for Community Colleges, Universities, Continuing Education classes, and GED certificates • Applies to specialty classes • Provides opportunity to increase earning potential

  12. Senior Recognition Program • Program requirements are: • 100 hours of activities • One social event • One fundraiser • Timeliness and accuracy of documents are essential • All CAHEC residents 55 & older are eligible • Reward is choice of one of CAHEC planned trips

Senior Recognition Program Benefits • Increases activity level of individual residents • Boosts resident involvement in community events • Provides opportunity for getting to know neighbors • Group trips provide the opportunity to know other residents in CAHEC funded properties • Provides opportunity to meet people from other areas • Gives participants chance to travel places they’ve never been

  14. Ideas for 2014 CAHEC Award Trips • Two night stay in Myrtle Beach, SC • Three night stay in Amish Country, PA • Two night stay in Savannah, GA • These trips are subject to change

Youth Recognition Program • Program requirements are: • Good behavior, attendance, grades • 10 hours of community service • One fundraiser • Site recruits mentors and chaperones • Mentors and chaperone’s will have a CURRENT criminal background check completed by CAHEC • Everyone attends a group trip! • Timeliness and accuracy of documents are essential
