  1. Introducing the new energy saver… MASTERColour CDM-T/TC Elite 50W/930the energy saving alternative for 70W 830 lamps… Elite November 2010

  2. MASTERColour CDM Elite 50W a simple story… Difference between CDM 70W and Elite 50W is less than 4% within 3 khrs. 50W Elite gives more light than CDM 70W on EM gear (4 khrs) and on EL gear (9 khrs) 50W Elite has 3 khrs longer life Elite 50W = more light + higher CRI + longer life + less energy!

  3. MASTERColour CDM-T/TC Elite 50W / 930the value proposition… Get the lumen package of a 70W lamp with 30% less energy… • 50W Elite provides more light over life compared to 70W standard ceramic lamps • a 50W system uses 25W less compared to a 70W system …and dramatically improve quality of light… • visibly improve light quality: 50W Elite has CRI = 90! • and is excellent on red … for lowest total cost of ownership. • 30% less energy saves you 15 euro per light point per year • 25% longer life: enable extended relamping intervals • systems are retrofit in existing luminaires

  4. MASTERColour CDM-T/TC Elite 50W / 930making the choice simple for relamping… CDM-T/TC Elite 50W/930 CDM-T/TC 70W/830 replace and … • …get similar lightoutput • …save 30% energy (25W on system level) • …improve quality of light with CRI = 90! • …dramatically improve red coloring • …get 25% longer life • ... keep your luminaire (50W lamp and 50W gear fit in 70W luminaire) Elite

  5. MASTERColour CDM-T/TC Elite 50W / 930product specs… 50W Elite T and TC lamps have standard CDM T/TC dimensions. 50W gears have standard HID-PV dimensions. For details on lamps and gear: see separate prelim. datasheet

  6. MASTERColour CDM-T/TC Elite 50W / 930features and benefits… Standard dimensions Retrofit into existing 70W luminaires. Highly efficient 108 Lumen per Watt MASTERColour CDM Elite burner Crisp white sparkling light with excellent colour rendering and high lumen output. High tech material compsition greatly improves color stability between lamps and during life High lumen maintenance: 80% @ 15.000hrs (!). Extended lifetime: 15.000hrs. Unique eliptical burner shapes for optimal lumen output and longer lifetime Lowest total cost of ownership standard G12 or G8.5 (TC) lamp foot Philips Green Flagship product ->

  7. MASTERColour CDM-T/TC Elite 50W / 930benchmark… Today there are no other 50W / 930 ceramic lamps on the market...

  8. MASTERColour CDM-T/TC Elite 50W/930 positioning, pricing, sampling and timing… • pricing • To be discussed with local KAM. • datasheets • Preliminary datasheet now available (with product management). • Systems (PRISMA and SAP) will be filled in November. • The product will be visible in the eCAT after commercial release in December. • sampling • Samples (limited) will be available per 2010.11.25 onwards. • introduction timing • Commercial release is planned for December 20th,2010 after which the lamps can be ordered.

  9. MASTERColour CDM-T/TC Elite 50W / 930logistics and packing… New generation: • packing • Same size and weight as 35W and 70W. Elite

  10. MASTERColour CDM Elite 35W, 50W, 70W… 50W Elite gives more light than CDM 70W on EM gear (4 khrs) and on EL gear (9 khrs) 50W Elite . 50W Elite has 3 khrs longer life

  11. MASTERColour CDM-T/TC Elite 35W/70W / 930FAQ (1)… What is new or different in this new generation of Elite lamps? This new generation CDM Elite lamps is based on breakthroughs in burner design, metal halide composition and burner processing. Burner shape is the only visible change compared to the existing Elite lamps, but the largest part of the change from Elite to the new generation happens inside the burner. What performance increase can we expect? • more light +10% for 35W and +5% for 70W • more life: +25% • Improved red rendering (R9) When will the new lamps be available? The new lamps will become available from Sept. 1st 2010 onwards, with new codes (to enable easy phase in and phase out). There will be a phase-over period of 3 months. Can this new Elite generation also run on Electromagnetic (EM) gear? The new CDM-T Elite lamps are designed to run on both EL and EM gear. NOTE: We do not recommend using the CDM-TC (standard or Elite) in combination with EM gear because of end-of-life safety.

  12. MASTERColour CDM-T/TC Elite 35W/70W / 930FAQ (2)… Will performance be different on EM gear? The spec table on the next page lists target performance on EM gear and shows differences in lumen output, lumen maintenance and life time. At release, we have evidence of maximum 12.000hrs of life on EM gear. We will continue tests and update specs once proven. What is the benefit of relamping standard CDM on EM gear with the new Elite generation on EM gear? The new Elite lamps perform much better than normal CDM, even on EM gear. See table next page. Conclusion: relamping from normal CDM to Elite new generation gives more light (+15%) with superior maintenance (+20%..+30%), improves light quality (CRI + 8points), and makes red look visibly better. Do I need a new reflector when I change current Elite to the new generation Elite? • The lamps have been designed with the same LCL and are retrofit in existing luminaires. In most cases a new reflector design is not needed. Some remarks: just like with any ceramic metal halide lamps, we advice to use facetted reflectors for optimal light distribution. In some applications, optical behaviour could be different compared to CDM lamps with cylindrical burners. This depends amongst others on reflector design and beam angle in combination with burning orientation. We provide optical files to support reflector optimisation.
