Mission The mission of the Institution is to facilitate the acquisition and development of intellectual, technical, and humanistic skills to individuals from different population sectors for the formation of a whole and productive individual facing the demands of the job world in a changing society.

  3. Course Description • This course is designed to prepare students for the bilingual business community. • It includes the study of the basic principles of business communication. • Emphasis is given to writing different types of business letters, developing skills in writing the business message, and using business vocabulary appropriately.

  4. Course Description • This course will be delivered using a hybrid learning format. • Students meet in the classroom according to the calendar distributed by the instructor. • Students will submit various assignments by email. • Use of the Internet for research, discussion forums, and blogs are activities included in the course.

  5. General Objectives • Communicate clearly, concisely, and effectively in written context. • Apply correct vocabulary and common expressions used in different types of business messages. • Write different types of business letters applying writing techniques. • Communicate effectively through electronic formats (email, forums, and blogs). • Expand their vocabulary through the use of a thesaurus and tools included in Word and others located on the Internet.

Specific Objectives • Identify language tools available on the Internet and in Word. • Increase their vocabulary through the use of a thesaurus to identify synonyms. • Compose correct business messages selecting appropriate words to convey desired meaning. • Write coherent, persuasive, and courteous messages using positive language, modern expressions and a modern style.

  7. Specific Objectives • Write business letters applying the correct format, style and wording for various situations. • Compose business communication that responds to given situations. • Identify writing skills that need improvement. • Communicate electronically through email.
