  4. Tiger Time Rules • Upon arriving at school, students report to homeroom immediately after visiting their lockers. • Students wanting breakfast should pick up a brown bag breakfast and return to homeroom to eat.

  5. Tiger Time Activities Tiger Time will follow this schedule: • Monday -Homeroom Business • Tuesday -STARS (Silent Reading) • Wednesday -STARS (Silent Reading) • Thursday -STARS (Silent Reading) • Friday -Tiger Tracks (Videos created by PLMS students)

  6. Power Hour Rules Power Hour will be at the end of each day. Power Hour is designed to allow time to ask questions and get extra help from teachers. It is also a time for rewards for working hard and turning in quality work.

  8. 7th Grade Advanced Studies Math - Units of Study Unit 1 - The Tools of Algebra Unit 2 - Operations with Integers Unit 3 - Operations with Rational Numbers Unit 4 - Expressions and Equations Unit 5 - Multi-Step Equations and Inequalities Unit 6 - Ratio, Proportion, and Similar Figures Unit 7 - Percent Unit 8 - Linear Functions and Graphing Unit 9 - Powers and Nonlinear Functions Unit 10 - Real Numbers and Right Triangles Unit 11 - Distance and Angle Unit 12 - Surface Area and Volume Unit 13 - Statistics and Probability *One Project per semester will also be required.

  13. Magazine Sales • Help by sending orders to your work. • The only big fundraiser for the year . Ends Mon. Sept 13th. • Goes towards school activities including field trips.

  14. CrAzY CaTs ActivitiesT-shirts and Spirit Party • T-shirts are $6.00. Payment due with order. Checks payable to PLMS. • Spirit Party is Monday Sept. 13.

  15. Team Service Project • We usually visit Harvesters Community Food Network around the holidays. When the date is confirmed we will let you know.

  16. S.T.A.R.S. Stop Talking And Read Something

  17. S.T.A.R.S. is the silent reading program here at PLMS. • Students will be reading on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 7:30 a.m. – 7:46 a.m. during Tiger Time. • All students and staff are encouraged to participate. • Appropriate materials: books and magazines. • Not appropriate: homework, notes, etc.

  18. Make-Up Work Policy • Students who are absent from school are responsible for contacting teachers about missed work. • Students will be given one day for each excused day of absence to make up work. • Make-up tests will be scheduled during Power Hour.

  19. Make-Up Work Policy (con’t.) • All homework requested before planned absences must be completed and turned in by the day the student returns to school. • Per school policy, work missed while absent and not turned in by the date required, will be recorded as a zero.

  20. Late Work Policy • Assignments will be turned in at the beginning of class. • Planbooks will be stamped for missing assignments. • Students must report during Power Hour to make up the work. Completed late work is worth 60% if completed by the end of the day .

  21. Grades • Grade checks will be sent home with students the first and third Wednesdays of the month. • Grade cards will be sent home one week after the end of each quarter. • First quarter ends October 14.

  22. Parent Teacher Conferences • October 20 (1:00 -7:30 PM) • and October 21 (1:00 -7:30 PM) • There will be a link on the PLMS website to reserve your time. • Please check the newsletter for details.

  23. PTA • Please stop by the PTA table at the front entrance. • Be sure to join PTA and check out the great spirit wear.
