  2. Saying What You Are Going to Do When you talk about things you are planning to do in the future, use the phrase: ir+a+infinitive

  3. Práctica: Give the correct form of the verb IR to say what the following people are going to do. • Sofia/ ver la televisión va Sofia_____a ver la televisión. 2. Martín y Luís/jugar al béisbol Martín y Luís ______ a jugar al béisbol. van 3. Gloria y yo/bailar vamos Gloria y yo ________ a bailar. 4. Tú/tomar un refresco vas Tú______ a tomar un refresco.

  4. Translate the following sentences: 1. I am going to prepare a snack. (preparar) (Yo) voy a prepara una merienda. 2. The girls are going to study. (estudiar) (Ellas) van a estudiar. 3.   6. Regular -er verbs have the same endings as -ir verbs except in the nosotros(as) and vosotros(as) forms. The letter change Matches the verb ending: -er verbs=emos,éis -ir verbs=imos, ís -er verbs -ir verbs

  11. These are verbs that have regular present tense forms except for an irregular yo form.

  12. conocer- to know, to be familiar with (a person or a place) hacer- to do, to make These verbs follow the form for regular –er verbs except in the yo form.

Isabel says: • -¡Conozco a alguien muy modesto! • I know someone very modest! • Voy a cuidar a mi hermano. • I’m going to take care of my brother. • Voy a cuidar a mi gato. • I am going to take care of my cat. Note that whenever a person is the object of a verb, the personal a must be used after the verb except when using the verb tener. A may also be used when talking about animals that are pets, but it is not required.

Like hacer and conocer, the verb oír (to hear) has an irregular yo form in the present tense. • Some of its forms also require a spelling change where the í becomes an y. • Note that the nosotros and the vosotros forms have accents. You may hear the expression ¡Oye! Used throughout the dialog. It is used to get someones attention, the way Hey! Is used in English. To get Isabel’s attention Ricardo might say: -¡Oye, Isabel!
