  2. GC Credit Paper – 2002 – Question 7 An End Elevation and Plan of a cassette rack are given. A pictorial view of the rack is also shown. Using the sizes from the End Elevation and Plan, draw: a) an Elevation projected from the End Elevation and Plan, and (DA 7) b) a Development of the metal cassette support. (DA 7) Do not show hidden detail

  3. GC Credit Paper – 2002 – Question 7 • Start by projecting the position and size of the Elevation from the End Elevation and Plan.

  4. GC Credit Paper – 2002 – Question 7 • Project the thickness and chamfer of the base from the End Elevation and Plan. Project the straight edges for the slots from the End Elevation and Plan.

  5. GC Credit Paper – 2002 – Question 7 • Darken the outlines of the known lines on the Elevation.

  6. GC Credit Paper – 2002 – Question 7 • Divide the Plan into 30o/60o lines and transfer these generators onto the Elevation and the Plan.

  7. GC Credit Paper – 2002 – Question 7 • Project from the End Elevation to find the points for the curve on the Elevation. Draw a smooth curve through each of the points. Darken the curve outline to complete the Elevation.

  8. GC Credit Paper – 2002 – Question 7 • Project the height of the Development from the End Elevation and draw the first generator to show where the Development will start. Draw each of the other generators, measuring the distances apart from the Plan.

  9. GC Credit Paper – 2002 – Question 7 • Project the points for the curve from the End Elevation onto the Development. Indicate where each point is located and draw a smooth curve through each point.

  10. GC Credit Paper – 2002 – Question 7 • Darken the outlines of the Development. Project the cuts from the End Elevation onto the Development. Darken the cuts on the Development to complete the drawing.

  11. GC Credit Paper – 2002 – Question 7 • This drawing was awarded 14 Drawing Ability marks. • The following slides show the official marking scheme for this drawing.
