Project Overview Creating a Healthy Cookbook Working in committees, students will design the cover, write the introduction, organize a table of contents, and reformat their recipes for a class book. Students will be reading and writing about why it is important to make healthy choices. They will discover how and why fitness is part of a healthy lifestyle.

Tuesday Focus: Vocabulary and Summarizing Read The Alvin Ailey Kids Dancing As a Team on pages 384-401. Wednesday Focus: Antonyms Finish reading The Alvin Ailey Kids Dancing As a Team on pages 384-401. Thursday Focus: Alliteration Begin the comprehension packet on The Alvin Ailey Kids Dancing As a Team. Friday Finish the comprehension packet on The Alvin Ailey Kids Dancing As a Team and turn into the Reading file. Project Connection Staying Fit

What do you like to do? Who do you like to do it with? Do you need any special equipment or clothes? • Tuesday • Complete your graphic organizer and begin your rough draft • Wednesday • Continue your rough draft • Remember to use words to describe the activity and how it makes you feel. • Thursday • Use your chrome book to type you’re the final draft of your writing. • Friday • Finish the final draft of your writing and “share it” with your teacher to turn in. • Materials Needed • Writing Rubric • Graphic Organizer • Pencil Project Connection: How we stay active and fit.
