NEW Project • ITU SUPPORT TO NEPAD • Background : Res 35 of WTDC-02 and Res PLEN/5 PP- 02 • Project phase 1 : establish a Project Document detailing the investment needed to achieve the short and medium terms objectives relative to telecom and ICTs • Project phase 2 : Assist the African countries in Mobilizing resources and implementing concrete projects leading to the achievement of the objectives

Activities related to ITU-T • Promotion of more widespread use of new technical specifications and standards aiming at the development and expansion of Telecom/ICT Network and related services • Provision of information on ITU standards, recommendations, procedures and guidelines for the introduction of new technologies and new services in the telecommunication/ICTs networks
