  5. Prerequisite • To get the most out of this session you should be familiar with the web and with your department’s data • This training is designed to familiarize you with the Cognos reporting tool • It is not designed to familiarize you with the underlying data in myUFL’s system

  12. Query Studio • What is it? • Ad-hoc querying tool to build one-off reports • Allows you to ask questions of data warehouse

  13. Query Studio • Advantages: • Visual interface • No programming knowledge required • Fields and tables named descriptively • Standard table joins already made • Built-in features available to enhance report layout

  14. A Couple of Notes • When you run a query, you receive the most recently updated data from the database being used for your package. This means that if you run a report and rerun it at a later date, your data will not be the same after the warehouse update
