  1. 2012 Natural Building Intensive:Oct 19-21, Oct 26-28, Nov 2-4, Nov 10-12 Stony Creek Farm, Whites Creek, TN Have fun while you learn to build simply with good materials, including straw, earth, stone, and timber - all sourced from our region. Strawbalebuildings are beautiful, born of hard work, simplicity, and an attempt to reestablish a connection with nature. In this hands-on four weekend course we will be building a hybrid Chicken Coop/Greenhouse/Garden Shed that will be the envy of chicks (plants too) all over the world. • Learn appropriate natural building techniques for our high humidity region including cob techniques with Straw Clay Slip. Come for one weekend or the entire 4 week process as we transform natural and salvaged materials from our land into a multi-functional and beautiful building that will honor the earth for seven generations! • Course Instructor: Dan Callarman, Sacred1Earth • Hosts: Sarah Bellos and David Wells, Stony Creek Farm • Course fee: $200 for your first weekend, $50 each subsequent weekend (meals and camping included). Contact s.bellos@gmail.com for scholarship inquiries and course registration.
