Rules • Everyone take a BINGO card, SDS handout • P reads questions, raise your arm and say your name if you know the answer • l picks the first person, who gets to try to answer the question • Answer the question correctly to pick any number between 1 and 75 • If the answer is incorrect, we move on to the next question • 2 wins maximum per person

  3. Question 1 Question: What product document can you use to find safety and health information about a chemical product? Answer: Safety Data Sheet (SDS), or sometimes the product label.

  4. Question 2 Question: This type of common, widely-available chemical product cannot be stored or applied at MCPS facilities by most MCPS staff, under state law. A few designated DOM staff are permitted to use this type of product on school grounds. What is it? Answer: Restricted-use pesticides (bug spray, weed killer, insect repellent, etc.).

Question 3 Question: You pour a chemical product into a secondary container (bucket, bottle, pump sprayer, etc.) for easier use and you will use it for more than one shift or you will share the container with another worker. What do you need to attach to the secondary container? Answer: A label with the product name, chemical ingredients, and safety/health hazards.

It must not be disturbed by any employees who are not properly-trained and equipped to handle it. What is it? Answer: Asbestos.

Using the SDS, what types of gloves are recommended when using this product? Answer: Nitrile, natural rubber, neoprene “may provide protection” (Section 8, Exposure Controls/Personal Protection).

Answer: Do NOT induce vomiting. Seek immediate medical attention. Call a physician, hospital emergency room, or poison control center immediately. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person (Section 4, First Aid Measures).
