  2. IEC TC 117 Summary • Last meeting was held in Beijing, China, 7th – 9th November 2018 • New work Item:IEC 62862-5-2 ED1Solar thermal electric plants - Part 5-2: Linear Fresnel systems - General requirements and test methods for linear Fresnel collectorsProject leader: Werner PlatzerCurrent status: New Work Item Proposal • Proposals for New Work Items (see next slide)Decision about New Work Items will be made within 2019 Stephan Fischer

  5. IEC TC 117 Scope To prepare international standards for systems of Solar Thermal Electric (STE) plants for the conversion of solar thermal energy into electrical energy and for all the elements (including all sub-systems and components) in the entire STE energy system. The standards would cover all of the current different types of systems in the STE field, as follows: • Parabolic trough • Solar tower • Linear Fresnel • Dish • Thermal storage Stephan Fischer

  6. Problem The standardization work within IEC/TC 117 partly interferes with the standardization work being done in ISO/TC180 and CEN/TC312 respectively. This might lead to different test standards for same products e.g. parabolic trough collectors. Stephan Fischer
