  2. What is the purpose of this picture? The purpose of this image is to convey what helps people who have diabetes by showing that taking a flu shot is like when you have to use a life preserver to save someone’s life.

  3. Would the purpose of this image change if the words were left out? The image would lose its purpose if you took out the words because it would be just a normal life preserver in water.

  4. What is the main focal point of this image? The main focal point is the life preserver because it draws the viewers attention to it due to the very bright lighting surrounding it.

  5. Why do you think the people who created the PSA wanted their viewers attention drawn to the life preserver first? The life preserver helps to convey that if you have diabetes and you get a flu shot it could help to save your life.

  6. What is the ethical appeal? The ethical appeal is within the actual citation because the people who created this image did not want to take from its message.

  7. What is the logical appeal? In my opinion, the image establishes logical appeals by the image of a life preserver and having the words diabetes and life in a different color to make them stand out.

  8. What is the emotional appeal? The emotional appeal is in the actual words that were chosen to be put underneath the image because it makes people realize just how dangerous the flu can be for people who have diabetes.
