Microscope. Place slide on stage and secure the slide with stage clips. The low power objective lens should be in place. Use the coarse adjustment knobs to get the specimen in focus. Once in focus, move the slide so the specimen is in the center of the field of view.

  2. Place slide on stage and secure the slide with stage clips.The low power objective lens should be in place.

  3. Use the coarse adjustment knobs to get the specimen in focus. Once in focus, move the slide so the specimen is in the center of the field of view.

  4. Put the middle power objective lens in place without moving the course adjustment knob.

  5. Use the coarse adjustment knob to focus the specimen. Once in focus, move the slide so the specimen is in the center of the field of view.

  6. WITHOUTmoving the coarse adjustment knob, place the high power objective lens on high power over the slide.

  7. If the field of view is very dark, use the diaphragm to allow more light to pass through the specimen.

  8. Use the fine adjustment knob to focus the specimen.
