  4. Each worksheet has Columns (Letters) and Rows (Numbers) Each cell has its own special name e.g. A10 This is called its Cell Reference

  5. Label Excel Label the spreadsheet with the keywords shown Give an example of a cell reference:

  6. Which box does the star appear in? B6

  7. In Excel, calculations are written backwards = 2 + 2 You write down =first

  8. In Excel, calculationsare written using the following symbols =2 + 2 (plus symbol to add) =2 - 2 (minus symbol to subtract) =2 / 2 (forward slash to divide) =2 * 2 (asterisk to multiply)

  9. Excel Calculations Answer the questions below

  10. These are example formulas using a cell reference Fill in the formula for the last cell =A3+C3 =A4/C4 =A5*C5 =A6-C6 =

  11. Write the correct formula in the table Using cell references. The first one has been done for you! =A1+B1 Plus = Divided by Times = Minus Plus

  12. Excel Calculations Using the spreadsheet write the correct formula in the table. The first one has been done for you.

  13. Range of Cells A group of selected cells is called arange. In the example cells are A3 through C5 are selected, it would be written as A3:C5

  14. Range of Cells What range is selected? A B C

  15. Autofit AutoFitdetermines the best width for a column based on its contents. Double click on the line separating columns to use autofit.

  17. In Excel, functions allow us to make calculations easier! =Sum(A1:A6) adds the cells Instead of Other Functions =Average(A1:A6)averages the cells =Count(A1:A6) counts the entries

  18. Excel Functions Using the spreadsheet write the correct function in the table. The first one has been done for you.
