This initiative outlines the collaborative efforts in Lancashire to transition public health services during a significant reform. Approval to go forward In September the Lancashire County Council Cabinet and NHS Lancashire agreed: • To authorise the Cabinet Member for Health and Wellbeing to proceed with the recruitment of a Director of Public Health and the establishment of a public health structure within the County Council’s overall management structure; • To note the three domains of public health for which LCC will be responsible from April 2013 • To note the financial and staffing implications of the transfer of public health responsibilities from the NHS. • Public Health Lancashire Business Plan 2011/12
PH Lancashire work programme 2011-12 • Identified priority objectives • Structured by the 3 main domains of public health as well as health intelligence. • Lead identified for each, tasked with: • Bringing together a group from across the county • Developing a proposed work programme to deliver the objectives • Identify priorities, duplication and areas for disinvestment • Develop proposals for how the Lancashire public health service should be organised to deliver the work programme
