  1. The Clone Fight Written By: Vatsala Paliwal

  2. Blossom, Buttercup, and Bubbles happily looked down at Townsville. They had been saving the town from numerous villains and were glad to see that there had been no attacks for a while. They thought the city was finally safe from evil!

  3. “Girls, you’ve done a good job,” said the professor. “The city seems safe and peaceful. Now behave at home, while I go for a checkup.” “Are you sick?” asked Bubbles, worried. “Well, I’ve been feeling unwell, so I just want to get everything checked out. I’m sure it’s no big deal,” he said. “Bye, girls.” “Bye professor!” they said together.

  4. “Is everything okay?” Blossom asked. Bubbles had just got off the phone with professor. “No,” she said, sobbing. “Professor is really sick. He got pneumonia. The doctor said he need to rest at home and we need to take care of him.”

  5. “What now?” Buttercup asked. There was another call and this time Blossom got the phone. “It was the mayor,” she said. “Hundreds of monsters are attacking Townsville. We were never safe after all. They villains were forming a large force to attack together!”

  6. When the professor came home, the girls told him about their dilemma. “We want to take care of you, but we have to fight off so many villains!” Blossom said. “If only there were more of us.” “Hey!” Buttercup exclaimed. “Why don’t we create more of us in professors lab?”

  7. X X First, the girls made templates shaped just like them. Then they put together sugar, and spice, and everything nice, and then added Chemical X! They poured the mixture into the templates. The mixtures condensed and the templates broke open. Now that they had the shapes, they needed to make the look-alike girls come alive.

  8. Each of them held hands with their look-alike template. They stuck together and the mixture/shapes started to come alive. There were now two sets of the Powerpuff girls, but they were stuck together! They couldn’t fight like that. So the girls held onto safety grabs in the lab and pulled. Eventually, they separated and there were six Powerpuff girls! And then 12, 24, 48…soon there were hundreds and they were ready for battle!

  9. “Okay girls, let’s do this!” Buttercup said. “Me, Blossom, and Buttercup will take care of professor. You guys go and fight those villains!” So the original girls took care of professor while their clones went off to save the city!

  10. And so they fought...

  11. Townsville was safe again! Thanks to the powerpuff girls! (Lots and lots and lots of them)

  12. Hidden Message: The message in the story was WHEN WE WORK TOGETHER WE CAN GET THE JOB DONE!

  13. ANALOGIES... • MITOSIS PHASES • Interphase: When the girls were just themselves. • Prophase: When the mixture was poured into the templates; when the templates cracked open • Metaphase: When the girls held hands with the look-alike templates and were stuck together • Anaphase: When the girls held onto safety grabs on opposite ends • Telophase: When the girls split into two • CHARACTERS • Sister Chromatids: Girls (original and new pair formed by template) • Chromosome/Genetic material: The mixture (sugar, spice, nice, Chemical X) • Nuclear Envelope: Template • Centromere: Hands (hand-holding connected the two) • Spindle Fibers: Safety Grabs
