In February, Fernway was evaluated for verification.  • Only great things were expressed about our school.  • A report was filed with IB in Bethesda and a recommendation was sent to IB Headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland.  On March 19th, 2013 we heard from IB that we had been named an IB World School!  Congratulations Fernway!

  3. Fernway School“Welcome to the Fernway Family” • One of five K-4 Buildings: Boulevard, Fernway, Mercer, Lomond, Onaway • Built in 1927 • 15 Classrooms, 3 per grade level • Over 350 students • 37 staff members

  16. Featured Country: Norway • Norway was one of the first countries to allow women to vote. Women are very involved in Norwegian politics. • The United Nations consistently ranks Norway as having the highest standard of living in the world. As a people, Norwegians are well-educated, earn high incomes, and have long life expectancies. • Norway is known as the Land of the Midnight Sun because from mid-May to the end of June, the sun never sets in the north. • Norway hosts the Nobel Peace Prize.
