Asha – in a Nutshell • A Non-profit voluntary organization dedicated to  socio-economic change in India mainly using the medium of education. • Highlights: • Seattle Chapter started in 1994 • Present active volunteers: ~ 30 • Annual financial commitment for 2005: ~ 350 K • 100 % of your donation goes to India

  3. Why Bike for Asha? • It is a tremendous personal accomplishment • You make a difference in the lives of underprivileged children in India • Get fit • Make friends

  5. What Asha Provides You? • Training in a group • Twice a week • Our forum is ashaseattlebikers@yahoogroups.com • A web site for each biker • Registration • Nutrition information • A cause to bike for!

  6. How It Works • Asha provides you means of training and some other facilities • You give your commitment to bike for Asha STP • The money you raise goes towards educating underprivileged children in India

  7. Fundraising • Suggested fund-raising • $500 • We will provide templates for fund raising emails to send to your friends and family

  8. July 9-10, 2005 Whats STP? • Seattle to Portland road trip! • 206 miles • One or Two days! • 8000+ participants • July 9th and 10th – Experience it! • http://www.cascade.org/EandR/stp/

  9. The STP Cost Factor • $70 Registration fee! • Register before June 8 to avoid late fees • Transportation Back from Portland $45 (including bike) • Overnight stay in Centralia midpoint is of very minimal cost (yet to be announced ~ $25) • Finish line festival – Free!!

  10. Whats RSVP! • In case you cant make it to STP there is RSVP!!!! • Ride from Seattle To Vancouver and Party!!! • Friday and Saturday, August 5-6 2005 • 183 miles of Scenic Back roads, a little difficult than STP • http://www.cascade.org/EandR/rsvp/RSVP_details.cfm • Party at finish line!
