Culture • The 14 Leadership Principles provide the social contract that keeps over 680,000 employees from over many cultures and countries on the same drumbeat. • Team size, tools, processes geared towards maximizing productivity: • Onboard in four (4) hours • SW deployment within two (2) weeks • Unique Communication Style: • Conway’s Law • Written narratives vs. PowerPoint • Verbal communication is direct and crisp • Data is the backbone of every decision • Working backwards • Problem solving by elimination Narratives are succinct and words matter

Metrics-backed decision making

How Can Industry Help? • Participate in the Exchange Programs: • SECDEF Fellowship • CITEP • PPTE • Automation: • Propose solutions for business processes not just tactical challenges. • Services-based solutions: • Bring your cloud expertise. • Where possible and where we boundaries can be pushed, bring an Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS)-agnostic solution • Educate us on things we have not thought of yet.
