Scripts • Scripts have formal rules that need following • Scripts show some scene direction but not necessarily actors direction! • Scripts show dialogue between characters • Basic rules include • Keep it simple • Think in big pictures • Make every line of dialogue count • Show motivations and character type via dialogue

  5. Scripts Task • Write a brief script for the following scene. think about: Who are these two people? Where are they? Why are they there? What’s their attitude? List down a quick back-story for each person • Two people are meeting for the first time

  6. Summary • Complete the tasks and bring for Thurs • Begin drafting the script make sure you include notes on the following: Who is involved? What is their motivation? Why are they there? What is their back-story?
