SCHOOLS TENNIS WITHIN JUNIOR TENNIS • THIS IS OFTEN CONFUSING • SCHOOLS BODIES AND PROVINCIAL SPORT & REC SEES SCHOOL SPORT AS SOMETHING DIFFERENT AND ABOVE NATIONAL JUNIOR TENNIS • IN FACT SCHOOLS TENNIS IS A LIMITED VERSION OF TENNIS AND IS FOCUSSED AS A SCHOOLS SPORT ALONGSIDE OTHER SCHOOLS SPORTS AND ALSO WITHIN THE CONSTRAINTS OF THE SCHOOL ACTIVITIES • JUNIOR TENNIS HAS A MUCH WIDER SCOPE, HOWEVER SHARE THE SAME PLAYERS • IT IS THEREFORE NATURAL THAT FROM TIME TO TIME FRICTION BETWEEN SCHOOLS TENNIS AND JUNIOR TENNIS WILL OCCUR • WHERE RUGBY, CRICKET, NETBALL, SOCCER ETC. ON A JUNIOR LEVEL CAN ONLY BE PLAYED ON A SCHOOLS LEVEL TENNIS IS VERY DIFFERENT IN THAT IT ONLY REQUIRES ONE OTHER PERSON AND CAN BE PLAYED ANYWHERE

THESE WOULD INCLUDE: • WAYS TO IMPROVE AND POPULARISE SCHOOLS LEAGUES • INNOVATIVE WAYS OF INTRODUCING TENNIS INTO SCHOOLS AND THE SCHOOLS CARRICULUM (PLAY & STAY & TENNIS10’S) • THROUGH THIS BRING LEAGUE TENNIS TO THOSE CURRENTLY EXCLUDED FROM LEAGUES & STRUCTURE SOCIAL TENNIS MORE EFFECTIVELY • HIGHLIGHT ACHIEVEMENTS IN SCHOOLS LEAGUES • ENHANCE SCHOOLS CHAMPIONSHIPS & NATIONAL SCHOOLS CHAMPIONSHIPS THROUGH INCREASING KNOWLEDGE • INTER REGIONAL COMPETITIONS
