  3. Discussion How might online video enhance instruction?

  4. Why Incorporate Online Video? • Written directions problematic for auditory and hands-on learners. • Spoken instructions difficult for visual and hands-on learners. • Distance students often miss out on classroom demonstrations.

  5. Your Turn Think of a topic in your work you would like to have video to support. OR Think of a process you explain or demonstrate frequently. Could explanation be made easier with a reusable demonstration?

But Can That Stuff be Trusted? • Google Video - Advanced Search domain limit • Educational institutions - .edu • Government – federal, state .gov (US), .gc.ca (Canada), .gob.mx (Mexico), etc. • SlideShare - View creator’s credentials, and Google creator (ulterior motives may be apparent) • MedlinePlus Interactive Tutorials Vetted by US National Library of Medicine librarians • MERLOT Peer-reviewed and such fine members!
