  3. Department of Justice Eric H. Holder • The Attorney General is the head of this department. • Oversees the nation’s legal affairs • Coordinates the activities of the FBI, U.S. Marshals and Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA)

  4. Department of Energy • Plans energy policy and develops energy technology Ernest Moniz

  5. Department of Transportation Anthony Foxx • Oversees the agencies that regulate air travel, rail roads, highways and mass transit

  6. Department of Treasury • Manages the monetary resources of the United States • Oversees the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) • Would determine the amount of coins to be minted or amount of printed money to be issued • Determines the amount of money the federal government would need to borrow in order to operate Jack Lew

  7. Department of Agriculture Thomas J. Visack • Responsible for safeguarding the nation’s food supply • Develops conservation programs

  8. Department of Veterans Affairs • Administers several hospitals for veterans • Administers educational programs for veterans and their families Eric K. Shinseki

  9. Department of Defense • Coordinates the activities of the Joint-Chiefs of Staff • Oversees the armed forces Chuck Hagel
