  3. Employees • Employees • Doctors in training (residents make up large portion) • Supervised by ABEM/AOBEM board certified attending physicians • Nurses and registered nurses • Salary: $250,000 + Physicians • Hours: 8-12 hour shifts at any time

  4. Services Provided • Acute care to patients without prior appointment • Treatment of a broad spectrum of illnesses and injuries; some may be life threatening and require immediate attention • Critical conditions handled: • Heart attack • Trauma • Mental illness • Asthma

  5. Types of Patients Patients with life threatening injuries (Accident cases) People who need immediate attention and cant take a scheduled appointment Patients whose health provider is not available and emergency care is the closest provider
