How We Select Our Warriors • A-G Requirements must be completed by High School graduation with C grades or better. • NO summer work after High School graduation will be accepted to meet admissions. • Students must meet the minimum Eligibility Index. • ALL students who wish to declare a major or minor in Music are required to audition in their major performing medium (vocal, instrumental, or keyboard) before a faculty panel.
Admission Deadlines • Freshmen should not submit transcripts along with their application; we will offer conditional admission based on self-reported data. • Notification of admission begins mid-October and is ongoing.
What Happens After a Student Applies? • After applying, students will receive a Confirmation Letter via Postal Mail in 2-3 weeks. • Students must activate their MyCSUStanportal and University email in order to view their admission status and important deadlines. This is the primary means of communication. • If any changes occur after the application has been submitted, students must send them to outreach_help_desk@csustan.edu immediately, but no later than May 2011. • Reminder: Students are conditionallyadmitted to the campus. Upon review of final transcripts, students will be rescinded if admission requirements are not met.
Appeal Process • If denied admissions and seeking an appeal, a 1-page letter from the student must be submitted to the Admissions Review Committee. Visit www.csustan.edu/admissions for the process. • No letter of recommendation required. • Once petition has been reviewed, students will be contacted by mail with final decision.
Importance of the EPT/ELM • Test early: 3 opportunities (January, March, May) • Ensures early New Student Orientation (NSO) • Students must attend NSO in order to register before the first day of classes
