  2. THE SCHEINBERG RELIEF FUND WAS ESTABLISHED BY BUSINESSMAN AND PHILANTHROPIST MARK SCHEINBERG, AND HIS FAMILY, IN RESPONSE TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC. Our funding supports social benefit projects within four categories: Medical Equipment and Supplies Food Security Elderly Care Animal Welfare

  3. SCHEINBERG FOUNDATION With an allocation of US$50M, its mission is to provide a meaningful difference with strategic, high impact relief for individuals and communities in locations where the family has a personal or business presence.

  4. ANIMAL WELFARE Animal welfare charities and conservation projects have been seriously affected by the pandemic and are now in urgent need of funds to help provide care, food and shelter.

  5. With little financial support being directed to these areas, the Scheinberg family will continue its longstanding support of these organisations.

CENTRO DE RESCATE LAS PUMAS Las Pumas’ mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, release (when possible) and provide quality of life to the wildlife in Costa Rica, while enhancing respect towards these animals and raising awareness of the need for their protection. Support from the Scheinberg Relief Fund is being directed to cover the centres operating expenses for 3 months, to purchase essential veterinary equipment, facilitate the completion of urgent repairs and infrastructure improvements, and to employ a member of staff dedicated to working full-time on diversifying the centre’s income streams to create long-term sustainability and reduce its dependence on visitor generated income.

  7. ANIMAL RESCUE ESPAÑA Animal Rescue España (ARE) is an animal welfare organisation that rescues abandoned and abused animals from municipalities throughout Spain. The COVID-19 pandemic has dramatically impacted Animal Rescue España’s ability to generate income while demand for their services has increased. The Scheinberg Relief Fund has ensured ARE can meet its operating costs until March 2021 and complete on the purchase of the property on which the shelter is located, thus securing a permanent home for ARE.
