  9. Population • All the individuals of the samespecies living in the same area

  10. Species –a group of organisms capable of producing fertile offspring.

  11. Communities • All the differentpopulations (species) living in the same area

  12. Ecosystems • All the biotic (living) and abiotic (nonliving) things in an area including water, sunlight, oxygen, temperature, and soil

  13. Biomes • Ecosystems grouped together based on their climate, and their similar animal and plant characteristics

  14. Habitat • Place where the organism lives Example: the habitat of a lion is the grassland

  15. Niche • Role or job of the organism within the environment Example: niche of a lion is a hunter
