  1. Autobiography Project Chapter One

  2. Lamby was like a teddy bear, only he was a lamb. He had a rounded belly, large ears, and large limbs. The fur on his body was soft. It covered him everywhere, except for his face. Lamby’s nose was soft and pink and worn from being rubbed against my lips. CatGirl and DogBoy simply could not compete with Lamby. I would not leave home or go to bed without him. In order to fall asleep at night, I would rub Lamby against my face and ask my mom to pretend to make him talk. Thinking about this now, I believe I loved Lamby so much because he made me feel safe. We were best friends. Then, one horrid day, Lamby was left in a carpet store. I was shopping with my dad in Amityville. While we were there, I decided to put Lamby in on of the rolled up carpets. When it was time to leave, I forgot to take him. We headed off to our house in Mattituck. When we pulled into the driveway, I realized that I had forgotten my beloved friend at the store. My dad called my mom who was teaching. She had to leave work early in order to arrive at the store before it closed for the weekend. As a thirteen year old, I know that one weekend without Lamby does not seem long, but it sure did to a toddler. My mom had to receive special permission from her principal to retrieve my beloved lamb. I had such a connection with my stuffed animal that I could not go a day without him! This is one day I will certainly never forget.

  3. Introductions: Hello, my name is Nicole. The day I was born was one of the best days of my parents’ lives. When they had me, they had been married for seven years. They had wanted children for so long, but my mom was told that she would not be able to have children. But, a miracle happened on April 25, 2002: they had my older brother Michael. It was a miracle that my mom was able to give birth to not only one child, but two. Three years later on March 31, 2005, at 10:46 am, they finally heard me crying and screaming as I came into this world. What skills are included in this introduction?

  4. Conclusions: The first years of my life were filled with love from my family. It also is the beginning of new friendships and adventures that I would not have even imagined possible. This is only how my story began. It is memories that I connect from things my mom has told me and pictures that I have seen. I do not remember much, but I do remember the feelings I had- feelings of being scared at times, of being safe, of being loved at home, and of being angry when I thought I was wronged. It is the feelings that matter, not the details of every moment, and I feel so lucky. What skills are included in this introduction?
