1. Mezek Heritage Workcamp 2009 Balkan Heritage project in cooperation with Municipality of Svilengrad, Bulgaria

2. Mezek Heritage Workcamp 2009 • Objective:To support the promotion and maintenance of Mezek cultural heritage sites; • Participants: 5 volunteers from Latvia, USA, UK and 2 Balkan Heritage workcamp leaders; • Duration: 7-20 June, 2009, 42 working hours for 9 working days.

3. Activities and results: the fortress The medieval fortress of Mezek (before and after the workcamp)

7. Trimming dried branches of the almond trees in the Fortress’ yard

15. Activities and results: the tomb Thracian tomb Maltepe in Mezek: • Removing rust and painting the tomb’s metal front door and part of the fence; • Fixing and varnishing benches and pergola; • Trenching round the rose bushes in the garden; • Collecting tourists’ garbage.
