  2. INLS 261: Tools for Information Literacy During this slideshow presentation, I will be discussing the effectiveness of this course and what I gained from it as a result.

  3. Task 1 The first assignment was rather easy and was simply a matter of listening to the professor, subscribing to newsletters, and downloading necessary content for the class.

  4. Task 2 This assignment consisted of building personal websites. The lecture gave a brief overview of HTML and CSS, but not enough to help someone who has never coded HTML before understand the finer details of it.

  5. Task 3 Document Markup was the primary focus of this task. Although I found it difficult at first, the task proved to be very useful and it definitely taught me things I never knew about Word. Me and my peers were required to edit the word document of a story and make it more aesthetically-pleasing for the average reader.

  6. Task 4 Perhaps the most frustrating of the assignments, Task 4 was definitely a challenge. Maybe it was the arrangement of the spreadsheets and the never-ending rows and columns, but I did not find much use for the skills I used. This image is an icon of the Microsoft Excel program.

  7. Task 5 Task 5, although almost as frustrating as the previous task, kept my interest because we can see the uses of databases everyday through such sites as Google. Databases are going to be increasingly more important as the web develops

  8. Task 6 What do you think?

  9. In Conclusion Overall, I found this class to be not only enjoyable, but rather challenging as well. Although I wish we had delved deeper into some of the topics, the class still is one I am happy to have taken. I recommend this course for those who are willing to get their feet wet in a number of different programs. After this course, I can imagine that one would be interested enough in at least one of topics so that he/she would pursue it on a deeper level
