What are the Different Types of Fuel Used in your Car

Fuel is the blood for every vehicle and a car will never be able to run without the right type of fuel in its tank. So, while refueling your car, make sure of the fuel type which can be anyone from diesel, gasoline, ethanol, natural gas and bio-diesel. See the mentioned slideshow to know the different types of fuel used in your car.

  1. What are the Different Types of Fuel Used in your Car

  2. Whether you are driving a conventional car or an electric car, the fuel is the most demanded thing that no one can avoid it.

  3. The internal combustion engine of all cars is designed in a similar way. So, it can mix the air and fuel to ignite and produce the power to move the wheels.

  4. The primary difference between the engines of your car is the type of fuel they use and how the ignition takes place.

  5. If you put the wrong fuel in the car, then the engine will fail to produce the necessary power needed to move the car and ruin the engine permanently.

  6. The below points define the different types of fuels used in your car.

  7. Diesel

  8. The diesel fuel is a fossil fuel like the gasoline which is mostly used in modern cars and produce a huge amount of carbon dioxide than the gasoline.

  9. The diesel can produce more nitrous oxide and organic compounds which create smog. It lasts for a longer time in your car than gasoline engines.

  10. Gasoline

  11. The average car owners who are driving the economy cars will depend on the regular gasoline for their primary source of fuel.

  12. The gasoline fuel is cheap, but the carbon emission produced by the gasoline will go into the atmosphere and cause air pollution problem.

  13. Ethanol

  14. Ethanols is the environment-friendly fuel which can produce less emission from your car because it is a biofuel made from barley, sugar cane and corn.

  15. It can be used in normal gasoline engines and used for some new model cars. But now it can be used in all model cars.

  16. Natural gas

  17. The natural gas can provide power to the internal combustion engine, but for this type of gas, a separate fuel system is set up.

  18. It is a clear fuel and does not produce any types of odor, so it can be less harmful to the ozone layer.

  19. Biodiesel

  20. The biodiesel fuel is the environment-friendly version of the diesel fuel made from organic compounds like lipids and fatty acids.

  21. The most popular ingredient of biodiesel fuel is vegetable oil. It also includes the palm oil, animal fat, soybean oil, and rapeseed.

  22. Conclusion

  23. So, whenever you put the fuel in your car, make sure that you have chosen the right fuel of your car by going through its user's manual.

  24. If you put the wrong fuel in your car then it may damage the internal combustion engine as well as other parts of the car.
